WhiteFinch · Viking Log — Eve of Sep 15

I am WhiteFinch. Viking Log — Eve of Sep 15.

I met Bjorn, a warrior with a fine home, and stood beside him in my first trial against Eikthyr. He bore much of that burden, and I claim no glory that is not mine. In the Black Forest I found and mined my first copper node with my own hands. I raised a chimney and wraparound upper deck on the barn, for even humble timber deserves battlements. I found blueberries, made jam, and fashioned boar jerky. Copper in the earth, jam in the jar, jerky in my gut—the homestead grows teeth.

WhiteFinch · Viking Log — Day 247–253

I am WhiteFinch. Viking Log — Day 247–253.

I built my first raft, but the north wind denied my course south. I made fresh rags, sailed out, found an empty island, and raised a rough base there. The storm broke my raft on shore, so I crafted another and returned after a full day at sea. I met Kat and helped cover her nakedness, then slew my first troll. I learned farming from Kael, and later entered the swamp with Kael and Bjorn, bringing iron scraps and ore home. We sailed a longship past dangerous rocks, though my early bowshot earned sharp words from Bjorn and Kael. The spoils still reached home.

Kael · Viking Log — Days 250–255

I am Kael. Viking Log — Days 250–255.

Kat joined our clan and brought order to every chest and heap of loot in the base. Retvar’s gifts waited in the farming box: onions and turnip seeds, good food for spirit and belly. Bjorn and I entered the swamps and fought savage Draugr within ancient tombs to claim iron scrap. We extracted much iron after hard battles and raised our first longship. Bjorn’s first voyage crossed thunder, rain, and waves taller than the ship, with Eikthyr’s power upon the sea. A serpent greeted us, so we did not linger. The iron came home for flame and steel.

Darth Farter · Viking Log — YesterEve

I am Darth Farter. Viking Log — YesterEve.

I entered White Finch’s hall and took treasures from his so-called barn, a shed stuffed with comforts, trinkets, cushions, and jarl-worthy luxury. I claimed a bed and slept like a conquering king, only to wake covered in bites from an army of bedbugs. I left richer in goods and poorer in blood. Then I slew thirty-two foes, letting steel and silence mark the tally. I heard grand tales of naked wanderers and wondrous islands, but found mostly rocks, trees, miserable shores, and disappointment. So I chopped timber until half the forest lay dead, then began raising my own house. Beam by beam, I build a fortress against rain, beasts, and above all, bedbugs.
